Like this koala spotted drying off after a swim in the Riverina in NSW this week, we are hearing a few growers are ‘on the fence’ at the moment.
It’s a tough call – “Do I cut my crop for hay, or hang in there for the grain?”
Some forecasters are saying there are a few millimetres of rain coming early next week here and there. Could be enough. Might not be.
Or is it better to ‘cut’ your losses and make hay while the sun shines?
Going for grain?
If you think you’ve got sufficient moisture to carry your crop through to grain, then foliar application of Fruit & Balance before the next fall of rain may enhance yield and quality.
