“There’s a lot more clover in our pastures as levels of available phosphate have increased. The nodules on our clover used to be small, clear and inactive but now they’re big and pink and very active. Once we switched the irrigation off, our pastures stayed green and grew for a lot longer than they did in the previous drought. It’s dry now but there’s seed all over the ground.”

As with all BioAg Fertiliser Programs, BioAg Better Dairy Fertiliser and Fertility Programs are tailored to suit each individual paddocks requirements.

In addition to increasing the fertility of your dairy farm, BioAg Programs help address potassium and magnesium deficiencies, and problems with grass tetany.

BioAg Fertiliser and Fertility Programs complement any previous programs on a paddock, and through our beneficial soil health technology provide the added benefit of unlocking previously applied nutrients.

Our Fertiliser and Fertility Programs are suited to conventional or traditional farmers, through to certified organic farming.

BioAg Fertiliser and Fertility Programs usually consist of a mix of BioAg Natural Fertilisers and Liquid Microbial Fermented Cultures, traditional inputs (including water-soluble fertilisers), and micro-nutrients.

Sample BioAg Better Dairy Fertiliser and Fertility Programs have been included below.

Autumn to later winter and spring

Pasture top-dressing with solid phosphate natural fertilisers

BioAgPhos and lime provide the two most important nutrients for plant growth:
  • phosphate (regulation within the plant and nutrient uptake)
  • calcium (growth and reproduction energy)

When and how to apply: Annual application in autumn or late winter/spring using a belt spreader

Application rate: BioAgPhos – 100-250 kg/ha

Features and benefits:

  • Biologically-active phosphate treated with a proprietary microbial treatment
  • Immediate and continued-release of plant-available phosphate
  • Minimum phosphorus content of 15%
  • Improved soil microbial activity “unlocks” previously-applied nutrients
  • Rejuvenates natural soil fertility and structure
  • Improves plant growth, nutritional value and yields
  • Can be easily mixed with lime and/or gypsum

BioAg Pasture Primo provides the two most important nutrients for plant growth:

  • phosphate (regulation within the plant and nutrient uptake)
  • calcium (growth and reproduction energy).

When and how to apply: Annual application in autumn or late winter/spring using a belt spreader. An alternative to mixing BioAgPhos and lime on farm.

Application rate: 400–600 kg/ha

Features and benefits:

  • Convenient mix of BioAgPhos and quality lime
  • Immediate and continued-release phosphate, as well as calcium
  • Improved soil microbial activity “unlocks” previously-applied nutrients
  • Rejuvenates natural soil fertility and structure

BioAg Superb provides a base of phosphate, calcium and sulphur (protein formation).

When and how to apply: Annual application in autumn or late winter/spring using a belt spreader. An alternative to mixing BioAgPhos and gypsum on farm.

Application rate: 100–200 kg/ha

Features and benefits:

  • Convenient mix of BioAgPhos and quality gypsum
  • A biologically-active alternative to single “super”
  • Immediate and continued-release phosphate, as well as calcium and sulphur
  • Improved soil microbial activity “unlocks” previously-applied nutrients
  • Rejuvenates natural soil fertility and structure 100-200 kg/Ha

One or two applications per year

Pasture top-dressing (with liquid microbial fermented cultures)

BioAg Soil & Seed is a liquid microbial fermented culture that is applied directly onto the soil using a boom spray.

When and how to apply: One or two applications per year. Apply to moist soil using a boom spray or irrigation system. Ideally, rainfall/irrigation to occur within 48 hours.

Application rate: 1.0–3.0 L/ha

Features and benefits:

  • Soil amendment and seed inoculant
  • Balanced food supply for soil microbes
  • Stimulates soil microbial population and diversity
  • Accelerates conversion of crop residues into humus
  • Improves soil moisture and nutrient utilisation

Post-grazing

Balance & Grow is a liquid microbial culture that is applied to foliage using a boom spray.
Micronutrients (e.g. molybdenum, boron, copper, zinc, manganese, magnesium and a range of vitamins) may be added to your program if needed.

When and how to apply: Apply with a boomspray after grazing

Application rate: 1.0–2.5L/Ha

Features and benefits:

  • Balanced nutrient supply for plants and soil microbes
  • Supports vegetative growth
  • Increases calcium level in plants
  • Stimulates soil microbial population and diversity
