BioAg expands into QueenslandLeading Australian biological nutrient manufacturer, BioAg Pty Ltd, has expanded its operations into southern Queensland and northern NSW with the appointment of Danny Leacy as its new Brisbane-based area manager. Raised on a mixed farming enterprise, Mr Leacy has more than a decade’s experience as an agronomist and field officer within the cropping, livestock, horticulture and forestry sectors. BioAg is a wholly-owned and operated Australian company that was established in 1999 to develop scientifically-based biological soil and plant nutrition products and programs for the cropping, grazing and horticultural industries. Its product range includes BioAgPhos, a biologically-active form of rock phosphate that improves the short and long-term availability of phosphorus in the soil, as well as number of liquid formulations that can be applied as soil, foliar or stubble treatments. Each product is manufactured from a range of natural and organic ingredients that not only provide a rich source of plant-available nutrients directly to crops, but help to rejuvenate natural soil fertility by increasing microbial mass and diversity. Most BioAg products are certified with the Biological Farmers Association of Australia (BFA) and are suitable for use in both organic and conventional production systems. The company’s approach and products have received widespread endorsement from Australian farmers and independent agricultural organisations, including NSW Agriculture and the CSIRO. Based at Narrandera in southern New South Wales, this progressive company employs eight full-time staff lead by Jeptha Gates, a renowned American biological farming consultant and Anton Barton, a long-time developer of biological nutrients. |
