BioAg Hosts Technical Training Program

BioAg recently hosted an internal one-day technical training program conducted by Dr Ashley Martin of Creation Innovation Agriculture and Forestry (CIAAF) from Adelaide, at the Attwood Convention Centre in Tullamarine (Vic.). It was attended by BioAg's agronomic staff and the firm's key agents and distributors. CIAAF specialises in microbiological analysis and interpretation, and engages in R&D and quality assurance. BioAg has worked with the organisation in the area of soil biological populations and diversity.

The topics covered during the day included:
• The importance of soil microbes
• Functions of the basic microbial groups
• Causes and effects on the diversity and population of the microbial groups
• UV degradation of microorganisms
• How soil microbiology, food and fibre production and sustainability are linked
• Causes, influences and consequences of a microorganism mono culture
• Managing stubble with microbiology
• Environmental and biological influences on stubble breakdown

The program offered a useful refresher for our staff and business partners who reported that the information gained will assist them in their field work.
